What is Right to Choose?
There is a scheme called Right to Choose Legislation where patients can have the assessment under the NHS undertaken by a private company.
Can my child have a concurrent NHS Autism Assessment referral and a Child Autism Assessment under Right To Choose?
No, you would need to choose one of these two pathways.
The NHS waiting list is currently 3 years and there is paperwork you will need to complete as part of this process.
You would be seen quicker under right to choose, however you the patient’s family would need to find a suitable right to choose provider and complete all their required documentation.
How do I find the most suitable right to choose provider for my child?
You would need to do your own research and choose a provider for us to refer you to. Each provider has their own application form/ questionnaire/ required information, this all needs to be completed and submitted to Nevells Road Surgery, by handing the physical forms in at our reception desk at the surgery marked FAO secretaries or send to our surgery email address [email protected]

Your child does not require a diagnosis to access additional support.
