Adult ADHD Assessments under Right To Choose Legislation
(16 years old +)

Our local mental health team is currently not accepting referrals for adult ADHD assessments. You can read more about this decision here: https://www.hpft.nhs.uk/services/community-services/adult-adhd/

There is a scheme called Right to Choose Legislation where patients can have the assessment under the NHS undertaken by a private company. However, if a diagnosis is made and medication is recommended, this will not be available to patients via the GP so will need to be paid for privately

If you decide to proceed with a referral under the Right to Choose Legislation, you will need to research a private company online yourself. ADHD UK have a helpful summary here https://adhduk.co.uk/right-to-choose/

Once chosen you will need to complete the required documentation specified by the company. Please then bring completed forms to the surgery marked FAO secretaries or via email to [email protected] who will then be able to send off the referral for you.
