Child ADHD Assessments under Right To Choose Legislation (under the age of 16 years old)
What is Right to Choose?
There is a scheme called Right to Choose Legislation where patients can have the assessment under the NHS undertaken by a private company.
Can my child have a concurrent NHS ADHD Assessment referral and a Child ADHD Assessment under Right To Choose?
Yes, Children can have a concurrent NHS referral (being on the NHS waiting list for an ADHD assessment) alongside a right to choose assessment.
It is important to note that many clinics offering these assessments can diagnose ADHD but there will be a charge if medication is recommended. Once a patient is seen and a diagnosis is provided by the NHS Child Development team, the NHS may take over the prescription for the patient’s medication under a “shared care agreement”.
How do I find the most suitable right to choose provider for my child?
A summary of providers can be found here https://adhduk.co.uk/right-to-choose/
You will need to choose which provider you wish for us to refer you to. Each provider has their own application form/ questionnaire/ required information, this all needs to be completed and submitted to Nevells Road Surgery, by handing the physical forms in at our reception desk at the surgery marked FAO secretaries or by emailing them to [email protected]
Please note at Nevells Road we do not accept right to choose referrals from Harrow Health
