The way you contact us is changing

You can now contact us by filling in an online form (including appointments).

Accessing Appointments with our Team

At Nevells Road Surgery, we are committed to providing safe, responsive, and effective care for all our patients. So that we can give you the best care for your needs we have introduced a triage system for all your care needs, including booking appointments. The triage process means that when you contact us about a medical problem, a GP will carry out an initial medical assessment based on the information you give us to establish how soon you need help and the type of help you need.

Online Triage Form

All queries you may have come through via our online triage form is available Monday to Friday and opens at 7:45am. We try to keep this form open for as long as possible each day to accommodate your needs.

A doctor will review your request within one working day of receiving it, and often much sooner. Depending on the nature of your concern, we may contact you to offer you an appointment or ask for more information or signpost you to another service.

Triage enables our GPs to safely offer you the most appropriate care and to respond safely with the right level of urgency for the need you have described. Sometimes we may signpost you to another service or offer you an appointment with a practitioner such as a physiotherapist or pharmacist, rather than a GP if we think that is best for you. Please keep your phone with you so that we can contact you in a timely way. This may be within minutes of submitting the form, and you should be able to attend same day if required.

Our doctors take time to carefully review the information that each patient provides on their online form. If we receive an unusually high volume of queries on a particular day, we may need to close access to the online triage form for a period of time. This may also happen during wider or national IT issues that affect access to records or systems. Closures are kept as short as possible, and we thank you for your understanding.

Help with filling in the online triage form

If you feel you are unable to complete the triage form online, in the first instance we would ask that someone else completes the form for you. This could be a family member, friend or carer of your choice and we will happily accept these requests.

Read more about our new appointments system on our Common Questions page.

Alternative access options

We understand that not everyone can access our online services. If you cannot find someone to complete the form for you then please contact our reception team at 01462 414839. Our staff will be happy to gather the information that we need from you over the phone.

Additionally, if you prefer to visit the surgery to complete the form in person we will support you through the process during our opening hours of 8:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday.
